Princess Ballerina Preschool Dance Camp

FAIRY PRINCESS BALLERINA BALLET CAMP
Is there a princess living in your castle?  Spend a week of make believe in our Fairy Princess Ballet camp!  Children learn the fundamentals of classical ballet, read stories, and watch The San Francisco Ballet perform Sleeping Beauty as they dance along. Camp ends with a mini-recital on Friday.  Taught by Elizabeth Díaz Krash, former professional dancer with American Ballet Theater.  Ages 4-7, 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  $145/ July 8-12

STORY TALES & ART! PRESCHOOL ART CAMP
Draw and paint favorite characters from great books – If You Give A Mouse a Cookie, Pete The Cat, The Hermit Crab, Knuffle Bunny and more! Preschool children enjoy stories, movement, games, and art activities – developing both large and small motor skills in nurturing classes.  Fun-filled mornings include outdoor playground time.  Peanut-free snack provided.  Ages 3-6, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. $140 / August 19-23

 

Elementary Art Camps!

Children rotate between art activities, snack, and game time or outdoor play at these popular summer camps taught by professional artists.  Each week ends with an art exhibit on Fridays for friends and family.  Ages 6-11, 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.   $185/ 5 day camps

CARTOON MANIA July 1-3 & 5
Four Day Camp $148, July 4th optional $37  Explore art from the Disney animated movies like Peter Pan, Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin! Draw your favorite Pokémon card creatures. Write your own cartoon strip and make a clay miniature cartoon character.

ARTIST AUTHORS! July 8-12
Inspired by writers who made their own art like Dr. Seuss (The Lorax), JRR Tolkien (Lord of The Rings), Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are), and more, we will draw, paint, sculpt and write and illustrate your story!

ENDANGERED SPECIES!   July 15-19
Draw, paint, and sculpt endangered animals such as the Amur leopard, Sumatran elephant & Forest Owlet.  Learn how scientists are working to save their habitats.

ZEN ART July 22 – 26
Find relaxation and focus through art!  We’ll learn Zen doodling, make a mandala rock painting, a whimsical watercolor, and even paint with our feet!!

HOW DID THEY DO THAT?! July 29 – August 2
Learn the secrets behind amazing art!  Blend pastels to create a 3D painting, create a wild mixed-media collage, explore printmaking techniques with cut shapes, and create a found-object relief sculpture!

VERY CONTINENTAL! August 12-16
Journey around the world and make a Japanese blockprint, Australian aboriginal art, Ming dynasty painting on glass, Panama Molas paper-layer 3D art, and an Egyptian tablet with your name in hieroglyphics!

KITCHEN ART! August 26-30
Put your apron on and create art inspired by the kitchen. Whip up some paper mache ice cream cones so mouth-watering, you could almost eat them! Paint an abstract masterpiece using spaghetti brushes. Use clay pasta machines to roll out decorative sushi. Stamp fruit and vegetables on fabric designing a centerpiece for your kitchen table.  Bon Appétit!

 

Teens & Tweens Studio Art Camps

Teen and Tweens artists develop their personal interests and images as they explore relief printmaking, figure sculpture, drawing the portrait and animals in charcoal, pen & ink, and painting on canvas.  Small classes taught by professional artists focus on individual attention and encourage each student’s unique creativity.   Ages 11+,   1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.  $195 / 5 day camp.  SESSION I:  June 24-28,  SESSION II:  August 26-30

 

Robotics

Learn how to build and design Robots using the LEGO EV3 system.  Students will learn basic robotic engineering, programming principals, and the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics Invention system.  Teamwork skills will be emphasized as the students work together in small groups to design, build, and program robots to complete missions presented to family and friends on the last day of camp.  No previous experience required.  Ages 9 – 13  $185/ Enrollment limited to 12.  Camps fill up quickly due to limited class size.  Camps offered the weeks of June 24-28, July 15-19, July 22-26, July 29-August 2, and August 19-23.  Email center4creativearts@comcast.net to register.

 

 

Chess Camps

HOW TO PLAY AND WIN!  Discover strategies that build a strong chess foundation, one piece at a time in this popular camp! Put these strategies to work in Pawn Games that test your skills. Conquer the mysteries of check, checkmate and stalemate. Learn to start the game using an opening strategy that will keep your opponents on the defensive. Set up checkmate patterns that will help you win in the endgame. Players are paired according to age and ability.  Grades K – 6th  $185 5-day camps

Music Camps

JAZZ ENSEMBLES Students focus on the essentials of ensemble performance –  tone quality, articulation, phrasing, and musicality.  Students will perform together, and be introduced to jazz improvisation and theory.  Open to all instrumentalists.  Ability to play a musical instrument required. Ages 9+, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. July 15 – 19   $190/ 5 day camps

MUSIC RECORDING ARTS Students will use Apple GarageBand to learn about digital music production and recording from a professional musician and music producer, including how to record a live performance, as well as capture sounds to be used as samples or sound effects.  Students must have either a Mac laptop or Ipad.  Ages 9+, 9:00 – noon, July 22-26  $190/ 5 day camps
