RICHMOND’S LONG-STANDING HOLIDAY TRADITION
LEGENDARY SANTA CELEBRATES 80 YEARS
Tickets for Teas, Sunrise and Sunset with Santa Go On Sale Nov. 1st
Richmond, VA (October 24, 2016) – Generations of Richmonders have made visiting Legendary Santa a cherished Christmas tradition since 1936 when he first set up shop downtown at the grand flagship store of Miller & Rhoads. Now making his seasonal home at the Children’s Museum of Richmond, this year marks the 80th anniversary of that inaugural season. Legendary Santa, his beautiful Snow Queen and playful elf will once again delight his throes of fans beginning the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. Ticketed events such as Tea with Santa and Sunrise/Sunset with Santa go on sale beginning November 1.
While at the museum, visitors young and old can have a picture taken with the realSanta, share/post their Christmas wishes in Santa’s Post Office and children can shop in our rendition of the beloved Miller & Rhoads’ Fawn Shop, presented by VA 529 College Savings Plan. A visit with Legendary Santa is free to the public; picture packages vary in price. Museum admission is separate from Santa Land. Museum hours are 9:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.
