GRASP: College Financial Aid 102 – Hands-on Help.   7pm-8:30pm.  Meadowdale Library, Chesterfield County.  The deadlines for applying for financial aid are coming up fast. A GRASP advisor will be available, at no charge, to help you complete the FAFSA form and other necessary documents in order to receive college financial aid. This program is recommended for high school students and their parents.  Free.

LiveSky: Solar System Tourist Attractions.  6:30pm.  Science Museum of Virginia.  A special LiveSky at Science on a Sphere® to discover where you might want to visit! After the show, join members of the Richmond Astronomical Society, weather permitting, as they point telescopes up into the vastness of space. Free.

Arena Racing.  7pm.  Richmond Coliseum.  Exciting family entertainment watching drivers in ½ scale stock cars racing around a high-banked race track, turning laps in under 8 seconds flat while competing side-by-side bumping, rubbing, flipping and racing.  Fee.

Family DIY Workshop: Build a Bluebird House 2014.   10:15am-12:15pm.  Chester Library, Chesterfield County.  Build a bluebird house, just in time for nesting season! Materials will be provided for each family to build one bluebird house together during the workshop. Families must bring their own hammer and medium-sized Phillips-head screwdriver. Registration is required and begins Dec. 21. Please register only one family member; there will be plenty of seats for the rest of your family. Teen Studio: Valentine Clay Jewelry Workshop.  10:30am-12:30pm.  Midlothian Library, Chesterfield County.   Make sweet-looking earrings, necklaces or a fun pendant! Jessica Partain, jeweler and author of “The Polymer Clay Cookbook,” will teach you the basic techniques of polymer clay and jewelry-making as you create miniature Valentine clay candies and turn them into accessories. Participants in this program must be 12-16 years old. Registration is required and begins Jan. 4.   Free.

Happy Chinese New Year!  11am-Noon.  Clover Hill Library, Chesterfield County.  Families are invited to celebrate Chinese culture as we prepare for the year of the horse! Snow Days Festival.  Noon-4pm.  CMoR Central.  The 5th Annual Snow Queen scholarship winner be crowned at Noon! Then enjoy a special story time with the new Snow Queen and an opportunity for meet and greets!    Spend the rest of the day taking part in other special Winter Activities.  Free with museum admission.
