Family Friendly Celebrations for New Year’s Eve

There is lots to do this New Years Eve – check out this list!

New Year’s Eve Bash. 10am-2pm.  Children’s Museum – Dowtown.   Ring in the Noon Year at the Children’s Museum Downtown with performances at 10am and 1pm by the Diggity Dudes, a juice box toast, and of course… the confetti room!

Noon Year’s Eve Celebration.  10am-1pm.   Science Museum of Virginia.   Bring in the noon year with a party complete with a countdown to noon, a drop of 2020  bouncy balls dropped in the Rotunda!  Noon Year’s Eve is included in Museum admission and is open to the first 2,500 guests. The Museum will open at 9 am that day to begin selling tickets. Tickets must be purchased in person at Guest Services on December 31; advance ticket purchases and online ticket purchases are not valid for this event.

New Year’s Eve Family Frolic.  2pm-5pm.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.  Enjoy fun family activities all afternoon with the New Year’s Eve Family Frolic. Live music with the Ululating Mummies, a parade and more.  Activities include: Photo opportunities with the Garden Keeper, Make your own New Year’s party hat, Write your wish for 2020 and add it to our “wishing chain”, Be a part of the annual Garden tradition: “Rolling in the New Year” by rolling down the hill to the Cochrane Rose Garden. Those who attend the New Year’s Eve Family Frolic and who are already in the Garden can stay to attend Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights (5 -10 p.m.)

Noon Year’s Eve Jump.  2:30-4:30pm.  Pump It Up – Hanover. Reserve your spot early! Fee.

Kids New Year’s Eve Party.  11am-1pm.  The Stage at Triangle Park, Stony Point Fashion Park. Ring in the new year with ice skating, pizza, noise makers, hats and a balloon drop at Noon! Noon Year’s Eve Party is free to attend.  Hats, noisemakers and pizza available for the first 200 kids 10 and under.  Admission to the Ice Rink is required; however, there is a $2 discount from 11am – 1pm the day of the event.

ChristmasTown.  Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA.   Celebrate the season and see eight million twinkling lights, dazzling shows and more.  Through January 5th.  Fee.
