Donate Books to Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank & Get Free Admission for Your Child to CMoR Sundays in March

The Children’s Museum of Richmond, in partnership with the Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank, will celebrate National Reading Month with free admission on Sundays throughout the month of March for children who donate at least five books to the Book Bank. To receive free admission, children should bring books to any Children’s Museum of Richmond location on the following dates:

Sunday, March 11, 2018
Sunday, March 18, 2018
Sunday, March 25, 2018

The goal of the book drive is to collect 5,000 books. Books will be distributed to children throughout Central Virginia. Books must be new or gently used. The Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank does not accept encyclopedias, school text books, books for adult readers, magazines, VHS tapes/DVDs/CDs or toys. Books may not be damaged or written in.

About the Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank

The Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank was acquired by the Children’s Museum of Richmond in 2010. The Book Bank exists to put books directly into the hands of underserved children throughout Central Virginia. The Book Bank accepts new and gently used children’s books at all four Children’s Museum of Richmond locations year-round and distributes books to Title One Schools and community organizations serving low income and underserved populations. Activities will include education stations (make your own book mark, word block building), interactive story times and more! Free with museum admission.

Meet the Author Series: Anne Marie Pace, Vampirina Ballerina

Meet beloved Children’s author Anne Marie Pace (Vampirina Ballerina) at CMoR Richmond. Author will present an interactive program about her picture books, focusing on reading and perseverance. Local children’s book store bbgb will be on site with a selection of Pace’s books available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public.
