WHAT:     Area companies, organizations, and families, enjoying a heart-healthy one and three mile walk in support of the American Heart Association’s lifesaving research and programs aimed at reducing heart disease and stroke in our community.

  • Heart and brain health education
  • Kid’s zone area
  • Tribute Wall honoring loved ones affected by heart diseases and stroke
  • Anthem Hands-Only® CPR training demonstrations
  • VCU Medical Center “spot the signs of stroke F.A.S.T” education and one mile walk honoring stroke survivors and heroes.
  • Healthy cooking demonstrations
  • Heart disease and stroke survivors wearing red caps and leading the walk
  • Company & community walk teams sporting team t-shirts
  • Leashed pets and strollers welcome
  • Rain or shine event

 WHO:         Chaired by Dr. Marsha Rappley, VCU VP for Health Sciences and VCU Health CEO.  Sponsored nationally by Subway restaurants and locally by Bon Secours Richmond Health System, VCU Health and JenCare.
