Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA)
Families are invited to experience the culture, traditions, music, dance and art of Peru during VMFA’s Family Day! This fun-filled afternoon offers plenty of opportunities for kids and adults to learn, create and celebrate together.
Enjoy lively music and dance performances, make your own Peruvian-inspired artwork, take part in collaborative community projects, and spend some time playing and relaxing in the Robins Sculpture Garden. You can even stop by Best Café for a bite to eat!

Families can enjoy several performances throughout the day:
Leslie Cheek Theater

Enjoy performances by the Latin Ballet of Virginia.
Cochrane Atrium
🕚 11 am, Noon, 1 pm & 2 pm
Emcee Oscar Contreras hosts performances featuring Perú Folklore Arts School and Tradición Dance Company.
Robins Sculpture Garden
🎵 DJ Ray-Ray
The Leslie Cheek Theater opens 30 minutes before each performance, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Cochrane Atrium performances are standing-room only, and chairs are not permitted in the performance area.

Kids can get creative with a variety of hands-on art activities happening throughout the afternoon from 11 am–3 pm.
