Busch Gardens America’s 250 Celebration. From June 29 through July 5, Busch Gardens celebrates America’s 250th anniversary and Military Appreciation Week. Visitors can enjoy family-friendly fun with americana-inspired entertainment, specialty food and beverage items and limited-edition merch. The week will be full of drone shows, specialty foods and a fireworks presentation taking place on July 4.

A Henrico Fourth. July 4, 2026, signifies the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776), which also marks the 250th birthday of the United States of America. So large a birthday, it could not be contained to one day but in a two-day celebration at two different parks. Friday, July 3: Dorey Park from 6-10pm & Saturday, July 4: Crump Park from 5-10pm.
July 4th
Free Fourth of July Admission. 9am-5pm. Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. FREE admission to the Garden on this day. This is a daytime event only; no fireworks. Open RAIN or SHINE.
Liberty Or Death, Public Reenactment. 1:30pm. Historic St John’s Church. Celebrate America’s birthday! Come witness the extraordinary rhetoric of Patrick Henry as he convinces his fellow delegates to take up arms against the King! Tickets are required and can be purchased in advance. This event will sell out but repeats every Sunday through Labor Day at 1:30pm.
Star-Spangled Squirrels Fest. 6pm. CarMax Park will host its first-ever Star-Spangled Squirrels Fest on July 4, featuring live music and on-field access for fans. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., ending with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission with bowl seating for the fireworks and $25 for general admission with on-field seating for the fireworks. Both ticket types include access to the field from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. After 8:30 p.m., only fans with an on-field wristband will remain on the field to watch the fireworks display.

Chesterfield County Fourth of July Celebration. Gates Open at 5pm; fireworks at dark. Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds, 10300 Courthouse Road. Celebrate independence with a spectacular fireworks display at dark! Includes food vendors and special entertainment. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets or personal fireworks are allowed. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Limited parking, All traffic should enter parking areas via Krause Road. No rain date. Free.
Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Fireworks. The festivities will begin at 5p.m. with a performance by the Richmond Concert Jazz Band, and fireworks will start at around 9:15 p.m. The event is free to attend for people of all ages. Arthur Ashe Boulevard at Idlewood Avenue will close to vehicular traffic beginning at 6 p.m. Parking is available at Dogwood Dell, with over flow parking at City Stadium, 3201 Maplewood Avenue, with free shuttle bus service 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Colonial Heights Fireworks Show. The City of Colonial Heights will be hosting a 4th of July Fireworks Show on Sunday, July 4th at 9:15PM. Viewing for the show will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs.
Light Up Powhatan. Powhatan County will host “Light Up Powhatan” at Fighting Creek Park, located at 2201 Mann Rd. starting at 5:30 p.m. on July 4. The family-friendly event will feature music, food, fun and fireworks.
