🎭 Celebrate the Holiday Season at RVA’s Winter PuppetFest 2025
This winter, Puppets Off Broad Street invites families across Richmond to enjoy an enchanted week of live puppetry, creativity, and community. RVA Winter PuppetFest 2025 runs from December 27, 2025, through January 3, 2026, and promises to bring joy, imagination, and affordable family fun to theater lovers of all ages.
Why This Festival Is Special for Families
- Accessible Pricing: Tickets are kept low so that families can attend without breaking the bank — a core part of Puppets Off Broad Street’s mission to make theater fun and accessible.
- Puppet Exhibit: Alongside performances, there will be a free exhibit of puppets made by the Virginia Puppet Builders. It’s a magical way for kids (and parents!) to get up close to the artistry behind puppetry.
- Local Mission: Puppets Off Broad Street is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to “activating imaginations, empowering youth, building community, and spreading joy.”

👨👩👧👦 Tips for Families Planning to Go
- Purchase Tickets in Advance
Because of limited capacity, everyone needs a ticket. It’s a good idea to buy early for your preferred showtimes. - Know the Venue
The performances typically take place at Richmond Triangle Players’ Robert B. Moss Theater (1300 Altamont Ave, Richmond, VA). - Health & Safety Information
Masking is required for patrons over age 2. This helps keep everyone — especially little ones — healthy during the busy holiday season. - Age Recommendations
- Many of the shows were historically geared toward children ages 4 and up.
- If you have younger children: The theater staff suggests sitting near the lobby so you can easily step out if your child needs a break.
- Bring Your Puppetry Enthusiast
If you have a budding puppeteer, this is a wonderful opportunity to expose them to professional puppetry. Puppets Off Broad Street also connects families with national puppetry resources like Puppeteers of America and UNIMA-USA.
Don’t miss this magical week — grab your tickets, mark your calendar, and make this winter a season to remember. ❄️
