
🎃 Halloween is Almost Here! 👻
Looking for some safe and festive spots to take your kids trick-or-treating this season? We’ve rounded up a list of family-friendly events and community celebrations where little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes can load up on treats and enjoy the magic of Halloween! (Events are being added regularly, so check back often!)
October 10 – SpookyFUN Fest. 4:30-8pm. Pole Green Park. Embark on a trick-or-treating journey through festive stations, explore interactive games and craft stations hosted by local organizations and businesses, collecting candy and goodies along the way. Keep an eye out for special appearances by beloved local mascots, college icons, and costumed characters, perfect for memorable photo ops! For kids ages 2-10. Event is free to attend for all.
October 11 – SpookyFUN Fest. 4:30-8pm. Poor Farm Park. Embark on a trick-or-treating journey through festive stations, explore interactive games and craft stations hosted by local organizations and businesses, collecting candy and goodies along the way. Keep an eye out for special appearances by beloved local mascots, college icons, and costumed characters, perfect for memorable photo ops! For kids ages 2-10. Event is free to attend for all.
October 18 – Trunk or Treat. 2pm-4pm. Tom Leonard’s Farmer’s Market. The pumpkin patch is open and kids can enjoy a truck or treat this Saturday. Free.
October 24 – Trick or Treat. 4pm-7pm. Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC). 20 participating partners will set up spooky stations throughout the museum for kids to safely trick or treat for candy and other free giveaways. There will also be crafts, games, a Halloween band, bounce house, trackless train, chocolate making demos, and free museum admission, which includes access to Give Me Liberty. Tickets are not required to access the event, but the VMHC would appreciate if you would register the number of guests who plan to attend below so that they may ensure enough candy and activity supplies. Free.
October 24 – Trunk or Treat and Movie in the Park. Deep Run Park. Kids wear your costume, participate in a Trunk or Treat, and walk through our kid-friendly Spooky Trail from 4:30-6:30pm. Then, grab your chairs or blankets to enjoy a Halloween movie at 7pm in the activity field (near the pond). Food, drinks, and popcorn available for purchase.
October 25 – Scarytown in Carytown Trick or Treating. Noon-2pm. Bring the kids to Carytown to go trick or treating! Look for the pumpkin sign in the window of participating businesses and walk in to get your treats. For older kids, check out the Richmond Zombie Walk at 2pm – it’s a truly unique day in Carytown.
October 25 & 26 – Trick or Treat and FREE entry to everyone 17 and under in costume! Hanover Vegetable Farm. Candy at the entrance and stations.
October 28 – Spooktacular! (Formerly Trunk or Treat). 6pm-8:30pm. River City Sportsplex, 13030 Genito Road, Midlothian, VA 23112. Put on your most spooktacular Halloween costume and join the fun at this family-friendly extravaganza! Candy, food vendors, music, bounce houses, and other surprises!
October 30 – Truck or Treat. 6pm-8pm. Eastern Henrico Rec Center. Enjoy a candy-filled cruise through a parking lot of decorated cars, costumes, and sweet surprises!
