Nature calls! Maymont’s wildly popular summer camps offer outdoor adventures, animal encounters, games, crafts and hands-on activities for nature explorers, ages 3-rising 8th graders. There’s no better place to spend the summer than amongst Maymont’s giant trees, rolling hills, winding waterways and wide open spaces. Camps for Ages 3-4
Cub Camp: You and your cub will learn about wildlife through games, hikes, crafts, stories and visits with Maymont’s friendly animals.

Camps for Ages 4-5
Seuss Science: Dr. Seuss stories lead the way, with animals, crafts, and games to play!
Living Alphabet: From alligators to zebra swallowtail butterflies, learn about the plants and animals around us one letter at a time.
Rhythms and Rhymes: It’s time to buzz, croak and roar as we sing and dance along to the beat of nature’s symphony.

Camps for Rising 1st Graders
That’s Gross: Check out the stinky, the slimy, and even the creepy to discover the nasty side of nature that helps both plants and animals survive.
Dodging Danger: Imagine what it takes to live in the wild as we uncover fun facts about animal habitats and adaptations.
Tales From the 100-Acre Woods: Discover friendships within the animal world, and explore Maymont’s 100 acres and all of its magical secrets during outdoor adventures.

Camps for Rising 2nd-3rd Graders
Maymont Explorers: Explore the mansion, gardens, Nature Center and grounds through geocaching and scavenger hunts as we decode secret messages, solve mysteries, and discover hidden treasures.
Life on the Wild Side: Practice your survival skills as you learn about maps and compasses, first aid, extreme weather, and dangers in nature, then compare your skills to some wild animals.

Camps for Rising 4th-5th Graders
Junior Animal Keeper Camp: Join pro aquarists and animal keepers during daily tasks like feeding and making enrichment treats.
Wild Water Explorers: Explore rivers, oceans and wetlands while learning about the amazing properties of water and the wildlife that depends on it.

Camps for Rising 6th-8th Graders
Adventures in STEM: This learning-intensive program delves into the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with connections to Maymont’s modern amenities and historic technology.
Senior Animal Keeper Camp: Join aquarists and animal keepers during their daily tasks. Make treats, train animals, feed fish, and meet animal care specialists.

Camp Volunteers
Junior naturalists, ages 15-18, assist in teaching younger campers about our natural environment while gaining experience in the environmental science field.

Camp Scholarships
Looking for a way to support environmental learning for youth in our community? Help children in need attend Maymont Summer Discovery Camps with a contribution to their Camp Scholarship Fund.
