Canine Capers and Feline Fun
(Rising 1st – 4th grade): June 3-7, June 17-21,
July 8-12, July 29-August 2, August 26-30
For kids ages six and up who love cats and dogs, this week-long camp full of games, crafts and activities centered on our canine companions and feline friends will surely pique their interest. Available for rising 1st graders through 4th graders for a full day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) $280/week
Dogs with Jobs
(Rising 3rd – 7th grade): July 1-5, August 12-15
We know dogs that run agility, perform tricks, compete in team sports and work for the police department. We know therapy and service dogs, too! Participants will get to meet many of these exciting pets and observe them in action. Available for rising 3rd graders through 7th grade for a full day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) $225/4 days
A Journey Through a Shelter
(Rising 4th – 6th grade): July 15-19, August 19-23
Animal shelters play a crucial role in communities by taking in millions of homeless pets each year. In this camp your child will use their imagination and skills to understand what it takes to run an animal shelter. They will hear firsthand about the different roles needed and get hands-on experience promoting pets, hosting an adoption event and more. This will be a fun-filled learning experience! Available for rising 4th graders through 6th grade for a full day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) $280/week
Animal Advocates
(Rising 4th – 7th grade): July 8-12, July 22-26, August 5-9
Animal Advocates will provide your child with the opportunity to learn about the Richmond SPCA and explore the topic of animal welfare in our community. They will have the chance to make items for our shelter pets, help with daily tasks around our facility, and discuss age-appropriate animal welfare issues that are important in today’s world. They will also help to sponsor one of our shelter pets throughout the week in the hope of finding that particular pet a home! Available for rising 4th-7th graders for a full day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) $280/week
Junior Vet & Junior Dog Trainer
(Rising 5th – 8th grade): June 24-28, July 15-19, August 5-9, August 19-23
Campers will work with Richmond SPCA expert trainers to be prepared to teach basic skills and tricks to dogs. Clickers, treats and training pouches are included. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the veterinary career. Along with classroom learning, the campers will have a chance to tour our Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital and watch our veterinarians perform a spay/neuter surgery. Available for rising 5th graders through 8th grade for a full day (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) $280/week
Kids & K9s
(Rising 6th – 9th grade): July 22-26
This camp offers the unique opportunity for participants to learn to train their own dogs. Campers will attend training sessions alongside their canine companions during this week-long camp. They will learn basic skills and tricks with the help of Richmond SPCA expert trainers. The Richmond SPCA will provide treats, pouches and clickers for training. Available for rising 6th graders through 9th grade for a half-day (9 a.m. – noon or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.) $225/week
Refund policy: Every effort will be made to accommodate enrollment changes based on session capacities. Cancellations made prior to two weeks before camp are entitled to a refund of half of the enrollment fee; refunds will not be available for cancellations made within two weeks of the start date of any given session.
Optional extended hours: If you are interested in dropping your camper off before 9 a.m. and picking your camper up after 4 p.m. we will be offering an extended before/after camp care this summer. For an additional $60 per week your camper may be dropped off as early as 7:45 a.m. and picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. Details for this program will be emailed to registered campers the week before their scheduled camp session.
