Bon Air Victorian Days

The Chesterfield County Public Library celebrates Bon Air Victorian Days—a week of events that will showcase the Chesterfield community in the late 1800s. The family-friendly event will run from Saturday, May 5 to Saturday, May 12 at the Bon Air Library, 9103 Rattlesnake Rd, North Chesterfield, 23235.

The annual celebration will include theatrical and musical performances, crafts, games and stories. The activities will culminate with the Victorian Day Parade and Festival, sponsored by the Bon Air Historical Society.

Saturday, May 5

·         Program kick-off, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Free ice cream and book sale

·         The Secret Garden, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Chesterfield Children’s Theatre brings Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel to life.

·         Games and Stories for Children, noon-1 p.m.

Presented by historical storyteller Deborah Alsko

·         Musical Selections by the REV’L Quartet, 1:30-2:15 p.m.

Come hear live music by a barbershop quartet.

·         Gilded Age Fashion Show, 3-4 p.m.

Fashions modeled by historical interpreters.

Tuesday, May 8

·         The Great American Sing Along, 7-8 p.m.

Join Hudson & Clark in an entertaining program of classic American music.

Thursday, May 10

·         The Postmistress of Bon Air, 7-8 p.m.

The early days of mail-carrying as portrayed by historical storyteller Deborah Alsko.

Saturday, May 12

·         Bon Air Victorian Day Parade & Festival, 11:15 a.m.

Parade starts at Bon Air Baptist Church and ends at festival location-Bon Air Christian Church

The Chesterfield Friends of the Library will hold a book sale during the celebration.
