Nature Connects®: Art with LEGO Bricks is at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

Rabbit-300x200The award-winning Nature Connects®: Art with LEGO Bricks is coming to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

May 27th – September 18th

Half-a-million LEGO bricks create giant flowers, birds, insects & more! The award-winning exhibit by New York artist Sean Kenney features 27 sculptures in 14 displays throughout the Garden.

Many of the forms are larger than life, including a 60-pound bumblebee and a hummingbird with an 8-foot wing span. They range in size from goldfinches less than 5 inches to a bison more than 6 feet high.  Click here for more details and photos.  Each display illustrates how all living things are interconnected to create a complex network relying on each other. A garden worker and a lawn mower made of LEGO bricks reminds us of humans’ impact on nature. There’s even an opportunity for guests to be part of the exhibit with a photo opportunity built into a mosaic of a garden scene.

Related build activities, exhibits and special demos are part of the fun.
