National Park Week April 19th-27th

national park weekLooking for something fun to do this month?

The National Park Service is partnering with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, to present on April 19th-27th, 2014, National Park Week, a presidentially proclaimed celebration of our national heritage.

National Park Week kicks off with free admission on Saturday, April 19th and Sunday, April 20th! So there could not be a better time to get out and explore!

You can plan your visit by what you want to do, or where you want to go … or you can browse the event calendar and check out the special programs offered throughout the week.

On April 26, National Junior Ranger Day, parks will invite young visitors to “explore, learn, protect” and be sworn in as junior rangers. April 22 is Earth Day, so if you want to roll up your sleeves and pitch in with a project, look for a park where you can help out.

This year, the National Park Foundation is proud to team with Disney to invite moviegoers everywhere to enjoy the new Disneynature “Bears” film premiering just in time for National Park Week on Friday, April 18. See “Bears” during opening week, April 18-24, and Disneynature will make a donation on your behalf to the National Park Foundation to protect wildlife & wild places!
