Baby Goats Have Arrived at Maymont!

045 smallerA female goat named Tag, who was born and raised at Maymont, gave birth to two kids last Wednesday, April 2nd. At their first veterinary visit on Tuesday (April 8), Dr. Kelly Gottschalk confirmed that both are healthy and growing normally and determined that one is male and one is female. The one-week-old kids are available for public view at the Children’s Farm. Tag and her offspring live at Maymont through a partnership with Wag-N-Wheel Farm.

Another pregnant female goat named Amelia is expected to give birth within the next two to three weeks.  Amelia is a permanent resident, owned by Maymont.

Ultrasounds to confirm the pregnancies were conducted by Dr. Stanford and staff from the Woodside Equine Clinic on January 28th.
