All Henrico Reads Author Visit April 2nd – For Tweens and Up

14GuestsOnEarth-350x490The All Henrico Reads Event April 2nd featues author Lee Smith, who discusses her new book ideal for Tweens and Teens.

The 2014 All Henrico Reads author event featuring New York Times best-selling author LEE SMITH and her book Guests on Earth on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 7:00 PM, at Glen Allen High School. Doors open at 6:15 PM.

Guests on Earth is an engaging historical novel narrated by Evalina Toussaint, who is just thirteen when she is admitted to Highland Hospital, a mental hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. The year is 1936 and Evalina finds herself in the company of some notable fellow patients, including Zelda Fitzgerald, estranged wife of F. Scott, who takes the young piano prodigy under her wing. Ms. Smith shines a light on a complex subject that has strong relevance for today.

This event is brought to you by Henrico County Public Library, Henrico County Public Schools, and the Friends of Henrico County Public Library. Books will be available for sale and the author will autograph them following the program.
