The City of Richmond Animal Care & Control (RAC&C) and the Richmond SPCA are working together to celebrate July 4th. They’re holding $4 pet adoptions the first week of July – this is a great savings over normal adoption fees!
Here are the details:
- All pets six months and older may be adopted for $4 each
- You must complete an application for review and approval first
- Potential adopters are screened to ensure they can provide a loving home
- Pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heart-worm tested (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats)
- Pets are micro-chipped prior to adoption
The RAC&C $4 adoption event will be held:
- July 3rd and 5th from 1-7pm
- July 6th from noon until 5pm
- July 7th from noon until 4pm
The SPCA $4 adoption event will be held:

Note that RAC&C and the Richmond SPCA will be closed on July 4th.
