Every year, parents all face the same dilemma: what activities should we do with our children this summer? Where should we go? What classes and camps should we sign up for? What’s the best choice for my child?

Melody Magic Music Studio is the answer to all those questions! This is a place where your child will develop, learn, and grow, all while having FUN! Melody Magic Music Studio, conveniently located on Lauderdale Drive in Short Pump, offers Kindermusik classes for ages 0-7 years. And these music classes are so much more than just beating on a drum!

What happens in class?

In class, you’ll play, listen, sing (encouraged, but optional!), move, dance, and giggle with your child. It’s fun. Lots of fun. But the best part – your child will be learning and developing skills along the way. Each of the activities is designed to stimulate your child’s brain, strengthen developing neurons, build gross and fine motor skills, enhance social-emotional development, and much more. And all the while, they are developing a life-long love of music.

When are classes offered?

Classes are offered for babies (0-18 mos.), toddlers (1-4 years), preschoolers (3-6 years), and families (1-7 years) throughout the week as well as on Saturday mornings. The most up-to-date schedule can be found on their website, www.melodymagicmusic.com.

Are there summer programs?

There is a fantastic summer program called the “Summer of Music.” It includes 9 weekly classes (for the price of 8!), take-home instruments, unlimited make-up classes, and awesome at-home digital materials that you have to see to believe! Who teaches the classes?

All the classes at Melody Magic Music Studio are taught by Kindermusik-certified educators. This means you and your child will be in the hands of someone who is trained in music AND working with children. The teacher joyfully guides the class from one activity to the next and helps you understand what your child is learning musically, cognitively, and developmentally. You’ll even get tips and ideas to use music to help make your everyday routines just a little bit easier.

How is Melody Magic different than other places?

One of the unique things about Melody Magic is that it is a small and personal business, run by Katherine Knight – a mom of three children. Everyone who comes to class gets to know the owner very well. When you call the studio, you speak directly with her. If you have a question or email the studio, she is the one who answers you. And it is obvious to everyone who meets her that she has a true passion for bringing music to children in Richmond.
