Chesterfield Nights In March at CMoR Chesterfield.  5pm-7pm.  CMoR Chesterfield – 6629 Lake Harbour Drive, Midlothian, VA23112 Weeknights in March have extended hours.  Children enrolled in Chesterfield County Elementary Schools receive free admission beginning at 5pm with voucher, good for any weeknight during the month of March.  Adults are only $4 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.  CMoR Members are free.

Sunday, March 24th

National Reading Month Celebration.  11am.  CMoR.  Enjoy story time every day and join your favorite story book characters each weekend! – CMoR Central – Tigger – CMoR Short Pump – Pooh and Piglet – CMoR Chesterfield – Super Why!

RFM Summer Adventure Expo.  1pm-4pm.  Peak Experiences, 11421 Polo Circle, Midlothian, VA.  Arts, Enrichment, Sports, Day & Overnight Camp fair.  Lots of entertainment for kids.  Free.

The Royal Ballet School and Richmond Ballet II Performance.  2pm.  Final performance with The Royal Ballet School, Richmond Ballet II and Richmond Ballet trainees.  Tickets available online or at Richmond Ballet Box Office.  Master Classes will be taught by teachers from The Royal Ballet School.   Teachers and students from dance schools in the area will be encouraged to participate.

Garden Explorations for Families- Orchids Organza. 3:30pm. Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. Children (all ages) with accompanying adult. Enjoy story time and a fun-filled adventure while exploring different areas of the Garden. We observe our surroundings using a variety of hands-on activities and take-home treasures. Themes change each month and new stories, activities and garden areas are introduced each week. Garden Explorations for Families is an excellent opportunity for homeschoolers! Fee.

The Richmond Symphony in Concert.  7pm.   The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.  For all ages. Join the Richmond Symphony and Associate Conductor, Erin R. Second Annual Executive Mansion Easter Egg Hunt5pm.  Join Governor and Mrs. Robert F. McDonnell for the Second Annual Executive Mansion Easter Egg Hunt on Capitol Square. Family friendly and free to the public, this celebration will include live music, an egg hunt, prizes, games, appearances by mascots and historic figures, and much more. Mascots in attendance will include Nusty from the Flying Squirrels; Smokey the Bear from the Department of Forestry; Snapdragon from the Department of Motor Vehicles; and Risky from the Richmond Raiders as well as the Lady Raiders and Raider Players. Keep your eye out for Thomas Jefferson, the Virginia governor and United States President, as well as other historic leaders from the Old Dominion. Be ready to play some games and get your face painted by talented artists from the Steward School…. and bring your dancing shoes because live music will fill Capitol Square and the mascots love to boogie. Don’t forget to bring egg baskets, as there will be an egg hunt with over 10,000 eggs to find.  Free.

Monkey Joe’s Easter Egg Hunt.  6pm-8:30pm.  Monkey Joes, 11304 Midlothian Turnpike.  804.897.5867.  Special toddler hunt for little ones, free photos with the Easter Bunny. $5 admission.

The Sisters Tellado.  7pm.  Henrico Theatre.  For all ages. This trio of sisters has been singing together all of their lives. With voices that are as beautiful and enchanting as the ladies themselves, the Sisters Tellado will treat you to a performance you won’t soon forget.  Reservations can be made beginning up to one month in advance.  Free.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Kings DominionCome celebrate Easter with Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang at Kings Dominion’s Easter EGGstravaganza! Eggard, Kings Dominion’s Easter Bunny, will be on hand to take pictures and greet park guests. There will also be an Easter EGGsploration scavenger hunt, along with other exciting events. Join us this Easter holiday as we celebrate Kings Dominion’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza. Brio Tuscan Grille Bunny Brunch.  9am-10:30am.  Stony Point FashionPark.  Featuring a breakfast, photos with the Bunny and (bring your own camera) and fun activities for children. Reservations are required, call 272-2255.  Fee.

Dominion Family Easter.  10am.  Maymont Carriage House Lawn.  The largest on-site fundraiser for Maymont! This is one of Richmond’s favorite Easter traditions with fun holiday activities and entertainment for all ages. Your ticket purchase helps us to continue to preserve and celebrate the Dooleys’ extraordinary gift of Maymont to the community. Goochland EggstravaganzaBring your little ones for a family event of hunting for goodies and holiday-themed activities. Located at the Goochland YMCA.

Easter Egg Hunt at G.W. RECenterAn Easter egg Hunt Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m.  The hunt will be on the field behind the RECenter.  There will be 2,000 candy-filled eggs hidden around the field.  The cost is $3 per child.  Age groups will be three years old and under, four to six years old, and seven years old and over.  No pre-registration is required.  Please bring a basket for collecting eggs. Easter Egg Hunt at Strange’s Florist. 10am-12noon.  Join Strange’s for this traditional Easter activity, and bring the kids to hunt for eggs among the plants and flowers.

Arena Racing USA.  7pm.  Richmond Coliseum.  Drivers in ½ scale stock cars racing around high banked race track turning laps in UNDER 8 seconds flat while competing side-by-side–bumping, rubbing, flipping and racing in the Richmond Coliseum.  Fee.

Saturday, March 30th & Sunday, March 31st

Easter Weekend with Peter Rabbit.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.  Peter Rabbit greets visitors and poses for photographs (both days 1 – 4 p.m.). Concert on the lawn at Bloemendaal House (Saturday, 2 – 3 p.m.); Easter Brunch in the Tea House by reservation (Sunday).  Included with Garden admission.

Spring Petting Farm.  11am-5pm.  Short Pump Mall Main Plaza.  Baby chicks, bunnies, goats, lambs and more.  Free.

Sunday, March 31st

Easter on Parade on Monument Avenue.  11am.  On Monument Avenue between Allen and Davis Avenues, enjoy this wonderful, annaul RVA tradition!  Join over 25,000 people celebrating Spring, strolling the streets, and watching paraders up and down Monument Ave. Music, arts, crafts, children’s activities, food, balloon artistry, a petting zoo and, of course, people and pet watching are all part of the celebration!

Easter Egg Hunt at Providence UMC.   10am.  All Providence UMC children, and the children of our community, are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday.  The gathering place will be the Social Hall.  This will be a great time of fun for our young children and an opportunity to reach out to our neighbors.  Invite a family in your neighborhood to join you at the Connections 9 am worship and stay for the egg hunt, or have them hunt eggs and stay for the 11 am worship service.
