What is Leap Week you might ask? It is a weeklong celebration of all that is Richmond Ballet that concludes with two special performances! The Richmond Ballet, with graduate students from The Royal Ballet School will perform with Richmond Ballet II and trainees from The School of Richmond Ballet in the Studio Theatre March 22nd and 24th.
Performances will take place in the Richmond Ballet Studio Theatre located at 407 East Canal Street.

The Richmond Ballet just made it even more fun raising kids in the Richmond area – Because we have two tickets to giveaway to the performance on Sunday, March 24th at 2pm.
To be eligible to win, your entry must be submitted no later than 9am on March 20th. Tickets will be held at ‘will call’ for the winner.
This year Leap Week is March 17th – 24th, 2013 and it is filled with incredible dance and music. Events are varied and offer something for everyone in the family.
Sunday, March 17th
Dance films with Richmond Ballet. 2pm. Criterion Cinemas at Movieland, 1331 North Boulevard at Leigh Street. Richmond Ballet will host an afternoon of 4 dance-themed films, selected by our company dancers and then voted on by our facebook fans. Tickets are $15, including a small popcorn and soda. Criterion will donate a portion of every ticket sold to Richmond Ballet. Screenings will continue through Thursday, March 21st.
Monday, March 18th
A special evening at Can Can Brasserie (open to the public, reservations suggested). Richmond Ballet company dancers to celebrate Leap Week, offering drink specials such as, The White Swan, The Balanchine and more!A portion of the proceeds will benefit Richmond Ballet. Reservations recommended.
Tuesday, March 19th
Backstage at the Ballet. 10am-6:30pm. Richmond Ballet, 407 East Canal Street. A special sneak peek of the company dancers and The School of Richmond Ballet while they train and rehearse in the studios at Richmond Ballet’s spectacular home base. Participants will also be able to take a free Rhythm and Motion Class, a new dance-based workout originating in San Francisco, offered exclusively in Richmond by Richmond Ballet.
C Street Celebration. 7pm. 3325 W. Cray Street, Richmond 23221. C Street will continue to help celebrate Leap Week with the company dancers and drink specials. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Richmond Ballet. Reservations recommended.
Wednesday, March 20th
Five acclaimed local artists will showcase their original art, which depicts Richmond Ballet dancers. There will also be an exclusive professional company rehearsal viewing. In addition, a reception will be held with the artists and company dancers which is generously sponsored by U.S. Trust. Evening by invitation only.
Assemblé will be on view through April 14th and can be seen by appointment at Richmond Ballet New Works Festival, April 4th – 14th and will be open to the public on March 30th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. For more information for an Assemblé appointment, please visit the Richmond Ballet website.

“Ballet in the ´Burbs” a series of events designed to take Richmond Ballet to the counties surrounding Richmond.

The Royal Ballet School and Richmond Ballet II Performance. 6:30pm. The Royal Ballet School, Richmond Ballet II, our touring company, and Richmond Ballet trainees will perform in the Studio Theatre. A post-performance reception will be held in honor of our guests from London, catered by Feedmore Community Kitchen. Master Classes will be taught by teachers from The Royal Ballet School. Teachers and students from dance schools in the area will be encouraged to participate.
