Malls

Indoor Play and Kids Clubs at Local Malls

Many of our local malls have indoor and/or outdoor kiddie play areas.   A stop at one of these play areas can be a great reward for good behavior while you are trying to shop, and can also help your tike burn off some steam.  Keep in mind they can get crowded especially when cold weather sets in, so bring your hand sanitizer and make sure your child is steady on his or her feet before entering!  Remember:  The use of these play areas is at your own risk, so keep a close eye on your children.

Sign up for the different kids clubs in each mall and you will have the opportunity to get your little one to a lot of fun activities.  Some (like the Short Pump Mall) require you to come into guest services to pick up the calendar – others are more advanced and use email or a website calendar to keep you up to date.  These mall clubs are all free (except for Virginia Center Commons).

The outdoor children’s play area is located in the Main Plaza close to Dick’s Sporting Goods and has two small playhouses that children can explore.  This play area is also home to the Short Pump Express, a mini train that children (and parents) can ride for a short trip around the mall main plaza.  The Short Pump Express tickets are available at Guest Services.  Click here for current train hours and prices.
