Rompy's Introduction to Dance Class is perfect for all those little
dancers! Children will learn the basics of ballet and contemporary dance
as well as hip hop and jazz! During ballet and contemporary,
dancers will learn basic stretches, warm-ups, floor routines, and a
beautiful combination to show off their talents! During hip hop and jazz
we will cover the basics of turns, jumps, pops, and locks that will
break down the complex dance moves for your little one!

Regency Dance Academy has been offering dance classes in Richmond for 20 years. They have classes in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary, as well as Music and Movement class for 3 year olds, Creative Dance class for 4 and 5 year olds, and Combination classes for 4,5,6 and 7 year olds. Regency Dance Academy also offers year-round classes, competition groups, summer camps, birthday parties, and a huge spring dance show at the Landmark Theater. In addition, they have the largest number of adult dance classes (for all skill levels) in Richmond, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop.

River City’s Dance staff’s goal is to create an environment where children can develop a positive attitude towards physical activities that will grow to include healthy habits for a lifetime. Dance classes for girls and boys begin at age 3 through high school. Classes include Creative Movement, Ballet and Tap, Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combos, Hip Hop, Dance and Gymnastics, and Dance Team Workshops. Many of these classes are broken into specific age ranges and skill level.

An after school theater arts education program for children 6-18. They offer classes in drama, voice, dance and theater during three 10-week sessions each fall, winter and spring. CYT also offers summer camps and Broadway-style musicals for the community.

Muggivan School of Irish Dance is under the direction of Champion dancer and certified Irish dance teacher Joni Muggivan, TCRG. Dancers at the Muggivan School are trained in competitive style Irish dancing, which allows them to compete on local, national, and international stages. The Muggivan School of Irish Dance is dedicated to promoting excellence in the art and sport of Irish dancing, providing an atmosphere of encouragement and positive discipline at all levels, and developing an appreciation of an important cultural art form as a testament to the rich and diverse culture of Irish dancing in the United States. TwirlyQ is a baton twirling club based out of the Short Pump area for K-12 students. We offer classes for the beginning student as well the seasoned competitor. We perform at local basketball games, and our competition team will travel to NBTA and AAU baton twirling competitions (no parades).
