Local Groups and Clubs:
RichmondMommies.com is a division of
The Mommies Network, a 501c(3
) organization dedicated to
creating a safe, secure and FREE support group for mothers of all walks
of life in every major city in the United States. We believe that no
one should have to pay a fee to find a friend, and any mother within the
Richmond metro area is eligible to join. Our members work full time,
stay home full time, work part time, represent many races, are pregnant
for the first time, are adoptive moms, were adopted themselves, recently
moved to the area, have lived here all our lives, have twins, are happy
with one, are single moms, are searching out schools and have watched
their kids graduate. They gain camaraderie and support through an
online forum that is available 24 hours a day and at playdates, mom-only
and family events around the area. We also help our neighbors as much
as ourselves through organized fundraisers and other charity events -
specifically those focused on providing for mothers and their children.
The Mommies Network is a connecting force, helping us each to make a
difference in our own lives, in our families and in the places we call
home. We believe that, working together, mothers can change the world -
one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time.
Richmond Playgroup is a playgroup for moms in Richmond and surrounding counties. There is no number limit of moms in the group and no fees. We have at least 4 scheduled playdates and 1 Mom's Night Out a month. They ask for 3-4 volunteers a month to plan one of each. We also offer a forum, a book club, an extensive online calendar of Richmond events, mommy blogs, over 100 mommy and Richmond links, and much more. For more information, email richmondplaygroup@gmail.com
The Dads and Kids Club was formed back in '95 with only a few
Stay at Home Dads. It now has a web base of @ 50 members.
The Dads group is very relaxed, non-committal and there is no dues.
We associate mainly through email for support, information and
conversation but do get together for playgroups, Dads Night Out (DNO's),
and occasionally family get together's. The playgroups range from
meeting up at a park, museum, mall or bowling, or at someone's house.
The DNO's are normally dinner out somewhere, at a sports bar watching a
game, poker at someone's house, etc.. If you are interested,
please go to our website at

or email Todd Tuting, at
ttuting@comast.net.
