FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND
July 1st
Genworth Financial’s Annual Concert & Fireworks Display. 6:30pm to 9:00pm.. Genworth Building, 6620 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA. An All-American evening of music, fireworks and family fun. Concert starts at 7:30pm, fireworks at approximately 8:45pm. 804.281.6699. Free and open to the public.
July 2nd
Parham Road Independence Day Parade/Festival. 10am Parade. 11am to 3pm Festival. The parade starts from the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church (Parham & Lansdowne) and ends at the parking lot of Parham Road Baptist Church, 2101 N. Parham Road. Free.
Powhatan Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks. 5pm. The Huguenot Fire Department hosts their Annual Independence Day Celebration at the Bullnaza Arena in Powhatan. Gates open at 5 pm for fire apparatus displays, a car & truck show, kids’ events, and a magnificent fireworks show. Free.
Fireworks at Kings Dominion. 10pm. Kings Dominion, Doswell VA. Kings Dominion celebrates Independence Day with brilliant fireworks displays. Kings Dominion is pleased to announce that it will offer FREE admission to active duty and retired military personnel on July 3 and 4 as a part of its Tribute to the Armed Forces program. 804.876.5000. Fee.

July 3rd
Fireworks at Kings Dominion. 10pm. Kings Dominion, Doswell VA. Kings Dominion celebrates Independence Day with brilliant fireworks displays. Kings Dominion is pleased to announce that it will offer FREE admission to active duty and retired military personnel on July 3 and 4 as a part of its Tribute to the Armed Forces program. 804.876.5000. Fee.

RVA Fireworks on the James. Gates open at 6pm; Entertainment starts at 7:30pm; Fireworks at 9:30pm. Brown’s Island. A FREE "Patriotic Family Fun" event that will feature performances by SPARC, the Richmond Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Richmond Ballet's "Minds in Motion." Food Vendors will be on Brown's Island and the public is invited to bring a picnic (alcohol and pets not permitted) and a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy music simulcast on WRIR-FM, 97.3 during the evening and see the state's largest fireworks display provided by Grucci, the "Top Name in Fireworks in the World."

July 4th
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is waiving admission on July 4 as part of its 25th anniversary. 1800 Lakeside Avenue, Richmond, VA. Admission is free all day (9am-5pm).
Brandermill Parade & Fireworks. 10am. Gardens At Sunday Park, Midlothian, VA.
Grand Marshal Nutzy, the mascot for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, will delight baseball fans of all ages. Other stars of the parade include: the Doctors of Jazz, Jonathan the Juggler, Greater Richmond Pipes and Drums, clowns, Kurt and Hugs, Uncle Sam, Abraham Lincoln, Chesterfield County officials and Fire and Police Departments, Clover Hill High School Drumline. Fireworks at 9:15pm. Free.
Great Meadow Fourth of July. 10am. Great Meadow, The Plains, VA. Country fair atmosphere with huge fireworks display set to music, air shows, children's games and family fun. Fee.
Richmond Kickers Fourth of July Fest. 11am-3pm. City Stadium. Splash Zone, Inflatables, Moonbounces, Food, Games, Music and more! Fun starts at 11am. The Kickers professional soccer game against the Dayton Dutch Lions at 1pm. Admission is just $4 per ticket before Noon and parking is free.
Ashland’s July 4th Parade & Lawn Celebration. 11am parade; 11:30am concert. 500 South Center Street, Ashland, VA. Old fashioned food and fun at the annual July 4th Parade & Lawn Party. Free.
Fourth of July Ice Cream Social. 11am-4pm. Shirley Plantation, Charles City, VA.
Ice cream, lemonade, and ice tea are included with regular admission and will be available from 2:00 to 4:00 PM as long as supplies last. Fee.
Patrick Henry's Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death Speech Reenactments. St. John's Church, 2401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23223. Historical reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, "give me liberty or give me death!" 1pm Free tickets are distributed at the front door. 1:30pm Patriotic music program, 2pm Reenactment begins. Free.
Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. 1pm-5pm. Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park. Free fun for the whole family! Enjoy a spectacular array of festive entertainment and activities like arts and crafts, face painting, children's petting zoo, contests and games, pony rides, and two spectacular sky diving shows with Uncle Sam! Don't miss the watermelon feast, Uncle Sam on stilts, Jonathan Austin the juggler, a patriotic performance featuring a historic color guard, drum and fife music and a period musket salute by Living History Associates, Ltd. Tours of Meadow Farm Museum and the Orientation Center exhibits will be available free of charge. Concessions will be available for purchase. Free.
Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks. Dogwood Dell. Byrd Park, 700 Blanton Avenue, Richmond, VA. Head out to Dogwood Dell for free music and fireworks in celebration of Independence Day. 5pm – Kidz in Da Biz; 6pm – Sharon North; 7pm – Carillon Bell Concert; 7:30pm – Richmond Concert Band. Free.
Colonial Heights Fireworks. 9:15pm. City of Colonial Heights, Colonial Heights, VA. The City of Colonial Heights will sponsor a fireworks display in the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway. Free.
Chesterfield County 4th of July Fireworks. Gates will open at 5pm, with the fireworks display beginning at dark. The Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. This year will feature a special activity area for kids and family-friendly entertainment. Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended. Alcohol, glass bottles, pets and personal fireworks are prohibited. Please note that this is a very popular event, and limited parking is available. Roads leading to the fairgrounds will close at 9 p.m., or when parking lots are full.

Fireworks after the Flying Squirrels Home Game. At The Diamond. Watch the Squirrels play the Trenton Thunder and stay for the fireworks display after the game.
