Reach New Heights at Triangle Rock Club’s Summer Camps

This summer, campers ages six and up can reach new heights at Triangle Rock Club, an indoor rock-climbing facility that opened in 2018. In 2019, they will offer three camps: a half-day camp geared toward 1st through 5th graders, a full-day camp for 2nd through 8th graders, and an adventure field trip camp for older campers (minimum age 12).

“Our goal when crafting our summer camp programming was to give campers and their parents a variety of options that incorporated climbing with learning and adventure,” says Programs Manager Kelsey Hoglund.

Experiential and interactive, climbing is a unique activity that develops self-confidence, problem-solving, and focus. Camp counselors foster an environment that encourages kindness, respect, and of course, fun.

Participants at Triangle Rock Club’s full-day and half-day camps can expect days filled with climbing the tall walls—which reach up to 28-feet-tall in their spacious facility. Additionally, campers try their hands (and feet!) at bouldering, a type of climbing at a shorter height that doesn’t involve rope. Games, lessons, and more fill the action-packed days. Climbers of all levels will be challenged but not overwhelmed.

Campers signed up for Expedition Camp will experience climbing inside the gym and beyond. After learning the fundamentals of indoor climbing, participants will explore the outdoors with field trips, such as climbing at a local crag, hiking, and more.

“We can’t wait to share the sport of rock climbing with all of our campers,” says Kelsey. “Climbing is a unique activity that combines adventure, balance, teamwork, and concentration, which are all qualities that make for a life well-lived. Spending time rock climbing with friends—new and old—is a great way to create memories that will last a lifetime.”

Camps fill quickly, so be sure to register your camper in advance.
