 July 4th

Liberty Or Death, Public Reenactment.  11am and 1:15pm shows.  Historic St John’s Church.  Celebrate America’s birthday! Come witness the extraordinary rhetoric of Patrick Henry as he convinces his fellow delegates to take up arms against the King!  11:00 AM Front Doors open. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  11:15 AM Music program begins.  11:30 AM Reenactment begins (no admittance after program begins or church is at capacity).  Tickets are required and can be purchased in advance.  This event will sell out.

Independence Day Celebration.  10am-5pm.  Virginia Museum of History & Culture.  Celebrate the Fourth of July with the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. Enjoy a day full of star-spangled festivities, including live music, a scavenger hunt, highlights gallery tours, food trucks, photo booth, and a large-scale citizenship naturalization ceremony beginning at 10:30 am.

Henrico County’s Red, White and Lights July 4th Event.  5pm-10pm. Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road.  “Red, White and Lights” is a free, annual family-friendly event that features patriotic entertainment, a family fun zone, food trucks and a finale featuring the Richmond Symphony and a fireworks finale.  Plan to arrive early and bring your chairs and blankets.  Free.

Chesterfield County Fourth of July Celebration.  Gates Open at 5pm; fireworks at dark.  Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds (across from L.C. Bird High School), 10300 Courthouse Road.  Celebrate independence with a spectacular fireworks display at dark!  Includes an activity area for children, food vendors and special entertainment. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets or personal fireworks are allowed. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Limited parking, and the roads leading to fairgrounds will be closed when the parking lots are full.   No rain date.   Fee for some children’s activities.  Free.

CarMax Free Fourth of July.  9am-5pm.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.  FREE admission to the garden all day.   Activities in Children’s Garden 1 – 4pm.   The free admission includes entrance to the popular Butterflies LIVE! exhibit.  Free.

Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Fireworks 6pm.  Independence Day Celebration with a Declaration of Independence reading at 7pm, Richmond Concert Band at 7:30pm and Fireworks at 9:30 or so.  Free.

Flying Squirrels Baseball Game and Independence Day Celebration.  6:35.  The Diamond. Post-game Fireworks Celebration.  Limited General Admission Seating Available – Call Today.  Fee.

Beaverdam Independence Day Parade and Celebration.   10am-2pm.  18002 Teman Road, Beaverdam, VA 23015.  The parade starts at 10 am.  There will be children’s activities and a Miss Beaverdam Competition.  Free.

Colonial Heights Fireworks Display.   In the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights.   Viewing for the fireworks will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs. Free.
