The Children’s Museum of Richmond is kicking off the holiday season with the highly anticipated arrival of the treasured Richmond tradition of Legendary Santa! Thanks to the generous support of Genworth and Wegmans, Legendary Santa, the beautiful Snow Queen, and the playful elf will once again delight generations of fans beginning the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. Ticketed events such as Sunrise and Sunset with Santa at the museum, and Tea with Santa at the Hilton Richmond Downtown will go on sale online beginning November 1st.  Tickets can be purchased at www.legendarysanta.org.

While at the museum, visitors young and old can have a photo taken with the real Santa, share/post their Christmas wishes in Santa’s Post Office, and children can shop in our rendition of the beloved Miller & Rhoads’ Fawn Shop, presented by Virginia529. A visit with Legendary Santa is free to the public; picture packages vary in price.  Museum admission is separate from Santa Land. Museum hours are 9:30 am to 5:00 pm daily. Santa Land hours will vary – a complete calendar listing can be found at www.legendarysanta.org.
The holiday fun will continue with a Noon Year’s Eve celebration at all four museum locations the morning of New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31st.

The Genworth Foundation Holiday Village will be open daily beginning November 1st. Stroll through a charming neighborhood of Fan-inspired houses featuring holiday celebrations from around the world: Hanukkah, Eid, Lunar New Year, Diwali, Christmas and Kwanzaa. Children will have the opportunity to experience the symbols, customs and traditions of several cultures through books, games and other hands-on activities. This seasonal exhibit is free to the public and is located in the Grandis Gallery off the museum’s lobby.
