Tuesday, July 4th

Liberty Or Death, Public Reenactment.  10:45am and 1pm.  Historic St John’s Church.  Celebrate America’s birthday! The Declaration of Independence will be read. The event is free and open to the public, but you may reserve a seat guarantee your spot at the forefront of history.

Henrico County’s Red, White and Lights July 4th Event.  4:30-10pm. Meadow Farm at Crump Park, 3400 Mountain Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.  “Red, White and Lights” is a free, annual family-friendly event that features patriotic entertainment, a family fun zone, food trucks and a finale featuring the Richmond Symphony and a laser light show.  Family Fun Zone – 4pm-8pm.  History exhibits – 4pm-8pm.  Finale – Performance by the Richmond Symphony and a laser light show.  Plan to arrive early and bring your chairs and blankets.  Free.

Chesterfield County Fourth of July Celebration.  Gates Open at 5pm; fireworks at dark.  Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds (across from L.C. Bird High School), 10300 Courthouse Road.  Celebrate independence with a spectacular fireworks display at dark!  Includes an activity area for children, food vendors and special entertainment. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets or personal fireworks are allowed. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Limited parking, and the roads leading to fairgrounds will be closed at 8:30pm or when the parking lots are full.   No rain date.  Free.

CarMax Free Fourth of July.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.  FREE admission to the garden from 9am-5pm.  Activities in Children’s Garden 1 – 4pm.  Guests are invited to wear red, white and blue and bring wagons and strollers to decorate for a “parade” in the Children’s Garden at 2 pm.   The free admission includes entrance to the popular Butterflies LIVE! and  Wild Art: A Journey Off-Canvas exhibits.  Free.

Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Fireworks.  5:30pm.  Independence Day Celebration with a Declaration of Independence reading at 6pm, Carillon Bell Concert at 7pm, Richmond Concert Band at 7:30pm and Fireworks at dark.  Free.

Goochland County Fireworks.  9pm.  Goochland Sports Complex, 1800 Sandy Hook Road, Goochland, VA 23063.  Park and watch the fireworks from the Goochland County Administration Building, Goochland Elementary, Middle & High School Complex. Admission is FREE!  No alcohol.  Pack a picnic and bring a blanket.   Rain date: July 5th.  Free.

Ashland JULY 4th Parade and Celebration. 11am.  The annual July 4th parade and celebration featuring loads of patriotism and small town pride!  Parade Line Up: 10:15AM at Henry Clay Elementary School.  Parade Step Off: 11:00AM (Parade begins at Henry Clay and ends at The Center).  Patriotic Concert with Hanover Concert Band will immediately follow the parade.  Patriotic Pet Contest!  Apple Pie Baking Contest!  Food!  Family Games!  Fun.  Free/  !

Beaverdam Independence Day Parade and Celebration.   10am-2pm.  18002 Teman Road, Beaverdam, VA 23015.  The parade starts at 10 am.  There will be children’s activities and a Miss Beaverdam Competition.  Free.

Colonial Heights Fireworks Display.   In the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights.   Viewing for the fireworks will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs. Rain date July 5th.  Free.

Flying Squirrels Baseball Game and Independence Day Celebration.  6:35.  The Diamond. Post-game Fireworks Celebration.  Limited General Admission Seating Available – Call Today.  Fee.
