So, you are home this Spring Break and need to bring the fun for your kiddos?  Here are a bunch of ideas to get you started:

Monday: Silly Science.  Join CMoR’s Education Department as they experiment with everything from rockets to Ooblek! Have a blast making a mess and learning how things work. Hands-on demonstrations will occur every hour from 10am-4pm with smaller experiments happening throughout the day.

Tuesday: Astonishing Animals.  10am-12pm: Reptile Adventures.  12pm&1pm: Virginia Living Museum’s “Mother Nature’s Traveling Roadshow”.  1pm-4pm: Virginia Sport Horses’ Therapy Horses

Wednesday: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.  10am-12pm: Planes!  Featuring themed story times, crafts, and a special paper airplane contest with Taylor- the 2014 Snow Queen and licensed pilot!  12pm-2pm: Trains!  Model Railway Demonstrations, themed story times, crafts.  1pm-4pm: Automobiles!  Come meet local arena racer, Ricky Dennis! We’ll also have themed story times and crafts.

Thursday: Amazing Art.  So many crafts, so little time! We’ll be “art-ing” it up from 10am-4pm with tons of paint, crayons, markers, and so much more!

Friday: Crazy Carnival.  Play games, collect tickets, win prizes! We’ll be giving away sweet treats all day. Don’t miss Balloons by Extreme from 2pm-4pm or our Caricature Artists from 11am-2pm!

Saturday: Marvelous Music.  Award winning group, Dovetail Ensemble, will be at CMoR for a special performance at 1pm. Learn more about the group HERE!

Animal Profile.  Maymont Nature Center.  Discover more about Maymont’s animals in this up-close encounter! Visit with turtles (Monday), snakes (Tuesday), owls (Wednesday), insects (Thursday) and amphibians (Friday). Register in the Nature Center lobby prior to the program; groups of 5 or more must register in advance.
