Instead of….

  • French fries
  • Ice cream
  • Fried chicken
  • Doughnuts or pastries
  • Chocolate-chip cookies
  • Potato chips
  • Sugary desserts
  • White bread
  • Soft drinks

  • “Baked fries” grilled in the oven and salted lightly
  • Low-fat frozen yogurt; sorbet; fresh fruit smoothies
  • Baked or grilled chicken; chicken tacos
  • Bagels; English muffins; home baked goods with less sugar/fat
  • Graham crackers, fig bars, vanilla wafers, fruit and caramel dip
  • Pretzels, unbuttered popcorn, soy crisps, home-made pita chips
  • Fresh fruits with whipped topping like blackberries or peaches
  • Wraps or Pita bread
  • Water (and crushed ice) flavored with peaches & strawberries
