Family Fun at Virginia’s Executive Mansion 200th Birthday: March 16, 2013

virginia-governors-mansion-birthday-partyHead to the Executive Mansion for a free, family-friendly festival this Saturday, March 16 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Executive Mansion is celebrating its 200th birthday and you are invited to the free festivities.

The Executive Mansion will celebrate with live music, birthday cake, games, a moon bounce, an inflatable slide, RVA food trucks and more.

Bring a picnic for the family if you’d like, or take advantage of food carts like Pizza Tonight, Thai Cabin, Estes Barbeque, King of Pops and others to enjoy delicious food from local vendors. And bring a folding chair or blanket to spread on the lawn and enjoy the fun.

Other activities include:

  • Mini Heritage Farm sponsored by GrowRVA with fun activities where kids can play with crafts, foods and culture that teaches them more about the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Agricadabra, a magic show about agriculture that was recently featured on TLC’s DC Cupcakes, will also be performing during the festivities
  • Music from George Dennehy, who recently opened for the Goo Goo Dolls
  • Outdoor movie premiere of “First House,” the Mansion documentary produced by Blue Ridge PBS. The movie will be screened on the Mansion’s front lawn so bring your blanket or chair!
