Lewis Ginter New Year’s Eve Frolic is ‘Must See’

You may have already visited the Lewis Ginter GardenFest of Lights with over a half-million lights – so you already know what a spectacular event they’ve created.

Now, Lewis Ginter is planning their magical New Year’s Eve Frolic on December 31, 2012 too, with lots of family activities and live music. It takes place from 2-5 pm.

All activities are included with regular Garden admission. It’s a fun place for family fun while raising kids in the Richmond area – whether they’re babies, toddlers, kids, tweens, teens, or older – they will love all the Gardens have to offer.

It’s definitely tons of fun for all ages! All of the activities are inside the warm and cozy Education and Library Complex.

Activities include:

  • Live concert by the “Ululating Mummies,” 2:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Continuing the “Rolling in the New Year’s” tradition of rolling down the hill to the Rose Garden (weather permitting)
  • Photo opportunities with the Garden Keeper & the Butterfly Fairy — bring your cameras!
  • Fun crafts: make a noise-maker to take home
  • Make your own New Year’s party hat
  • Write your wish for 2013 and add it to the “wishing chain”
  • Trains in classroom II in the Education Library Complex & in the Conservatory

Those who attend the New Year’s Eve Family Frolic and who are already in the Garden can stay to attend Dominion GardenFest of Lights (5 -10 p.m.) for no additional charge! What a fun way to say good-bye to 2012 and welcome 2013.

Visit Lewis Ginter to see the GardenFest of Lights during the holidays, and mark your calendar for the New Year’s Frolic.
